Welcome back to the Clean Green VIP blog! Today we will be talking about all things cannabis as per usual but with a focus on transporting cannabis properly. Traveling with marijuana has really changed in Canada since legalization in 2018. Canada was the first major country to legalize cannabis at a federal level. It is fully recreational, meaning anyone who wants to try smoking a joint or eating an edible has every legal right to do so. I am proud to live in a country that views cannabis for what it really is and we have the laws to reflect that. Now let’s get into the best way to travel with cannabis.
Those of us who enjoy smoking weed can’t stand traveling somewhere and not having access to the sticky icky. Thankfully, cannabis is legal across the country now so it’s really easy to access a variety of cannabis products. The only problem is that the government stores are way overpriced and don’t have nearly the same selection or potency as the online cannabis retailers. That is why we always recommend you stock up at one of the great stores online.
Most people aren’t aware but you can actually bring weed on the plane with you! You are allowed to fly anywhere within Canada with up to an ounce of the sweet herb. Pretty awesome, right?! The same rule of thumb applies when you are taking any other form of transport within the Canadian borders. Don’t forget to check the cannabis availability in whatever town or city you might be visiting because regardless of the legal status, certain towns and regions will not have dispensaries. This can be a real pain in the neck when you are just trying to get a good buzz on after a long flight.
